For the last couple of days I've been working on compound graphics. Compounds are 100% finished now. Graphics, gameplay, networking, sound effects and everything! All that's left to do now is the chemicals and we're good to go!

Anyway here are some piccies:

Playing in individual mode capturing the compound on the helipad (I placed this compound in the map editor): http://i.imgur.com/NKWldor.jpg

Playing in Team Victory mode, here you can see 2 compounds. Also see how compounds and the score are showin in the minimap: http://i.imgur.com/mMADDnD.jpg

I noticed there are red, yellow & white compounds, but no Rebels, yet there are 3/10 for Sci and 3/10 for Reb. Explain?

How close do you need to be to the compound before it registers on your minimap? Is it the same as if you are able to see a player on a screen, or as long as you walk within the end of your visual range?

Looks pretty cool huh!

To discover a compound you need to walk (or drive) within about 10m of it. Once you do this it will appear in your minimap (as white). Then once you capture a compound it will change colour. If you're playing a team game it will show as either yellow or purple depending on what team you're on. If you're playing a solo game it will display as red. So basically on the minimap compounds will be:

1) Invisible because you haven't discovered them yet.
2) White, because you've discovered them but not captured it yet.
3) Red for solo games or Yelllow/Purple for team games once you've captured it.

Compounds won't change colour in the minimap based on what other players have captured, only what you (or in team mode, your team) has captured. This is because unless recapturing is enabled compounds can belong to multiple players and it would get too messy on the minimap. So instead it simply shows what you've got (coloured) and what's remaining (white).

Oh yes, as for the 3/10 sci and 3/10 reb thing.. the scientists have captured 3 and the rebels have captured 3 also. But you're a scientist so you only see in the minimap the 3 you've captured. Also I've only bothered to discover 6 of the compounds so only 6 are showing up.

So in short...
1) Compounds start off invisible both visually and on minimap.
2) When within 10m, appear on both vision and minimap as white.
3) When captured, becomes your team colour.
4) Compounds will only appear as your own colour or as white - so you do not know if the enemy has already captured a white compound unless you have scouted in advance.

Correct?

1) They're invisible in the minimap, but not in the actual map. You can see them in the map always, you simply have to run up to them to "discover" them so they show in the minimap too.
2) Yup, they'll appear as white in the minimap. Already showing in the real map (although the lights will turn blue to indicate that it's been discovered).
3) Yes, true for both real map and minimap.
4) This is true for the minimap. In the actual map it is possible to show a compound with both yellow and purple lights if both teams have captured it, but in the minimap it will only show your own colour. If you're not playing team mode then it will show a red light for compounds that YOU have captured, and black light for everyone elses. So if you actually walk up to the compound to look at it then you'll be able to tell if someone else has captured it, but you won't know who.
